October Bread Baking Classes

We a delighted to have a couple of bread baking classes on our calendar for October.

Beginning Bread Baking – Saturday, October 21st, 1:00 – 3:30 pm

This class is suitable for anyone who is interested in learning to bake home-made whole grain yeast breads or anyone who is looking to improve their skills.  We will start with high quality ingredients and walk through the entire process of mixing, kneading, shaping, rising and baking loaves of delicious honey-wheat bread.  We will use some of the same dough to make some specialty items like cinnamon rolls or kolaches.  This is a very hands on class and is suitable for adults and children who are accompanied by an adult.  The cost is $10 per person or $20 per family.

Sourdough Bread Baking – Monday, October 23rd, 1:00 – 3:30 pm

Sourdough bread baking is an ancient art that is enjoying a season of revival.  Using a sourdough starter that crossed our country on the Oregon Trail, we will make delicious and healthful loaves of bread using whole grains flours and fresh herbs.  We will walk through the entire process and participate in many hands on activities.  There are very few things that are better than a loaf of sourdough rosemary bread fresh out of the oven!!  This class is suitable for the student with some bread baking experience, but you don’t need to be an expert to join us.  The cost is $10 per person or $20 per family.

Additional bread classes can be arranged to suit your schedule, especially if you would like to gather a group of friends who would like to learn together. Suggest a date and a class type, and we will see what we can do!!
