Greetings from Kathmandu, Nepal! I feel so privileged to be able to fly around the world to spend time with those I love. I will have two weeks here with my daughter, Abigail, helping to care for my grandbabies while my son-in-law is traveling on business in the States. Thankfully I will also have the opportunity to see Tim in Houston on the other end of my trip. Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too!! I will be posting some pictures on the Bethlehem Harvest Facebook page, so check them out if you’re interested!

While the cat’s away, the mice at my house will be working!! Bob and our teens are planning to handle the October Bethlehem Harvest order in my absence, so here’s the scoop:

The October grain order will focus on “whole bags” rather than products repacked by our family. On the attached pricelist the difference is noted primarily among the grains and legumes. Those products listed with numbers beginning with “RF” are whole bags – sold just as they are delivered to our home, generally in 25 and 50 lb. quantities. Those items with numbers that begin with “BH” are items that we repackage into 5 lb. quantities. In my absence the smaller packages will only be available from the stock we already have on hand. As you are putting together your order, feel free to include the “BH” items, but recognize that they will only be available in limited quantities.

Order Deadline: Please e-mail your shopping list to me by Sunday, October 20th, which is coming up quickly. You can simply post a comment below, or e-mail me at gsdegray@gmail.com. I will be compiling the order here in Kathmandu and submitting it to my supplier (oh the wonders of internet technology!!). If you have any questions, please feel free to zap me a note. I am able to keep up with e-mail most of the time, but if you don’t hear back from me, that means I didn’t hear from you!!

Delivery Dates: This month our Bethlehem Harvest Whole Grains Open House will be held on Saturday, October 26th (9:00 – 5:00) and Monday, October 28th (9:00 – 5:00). Feel free to stop by our home in Friendswood any time during these hours to pick up your order. A member of my family will be on hand to serve you. Here is the Bethlehem Harvest Product List – October 2013! There are a few specials to consider. Bread bakers please note that Prairie Gold and Bronze Chief wheat are on sale. It might be a good time to stock up!

Bread Classes: There will be no bread classes in October, but several are being planned for November. Drop me a note if you are interested, and we will try to plan a class that suits your schedule!
