March is National Flour Month

March is National Flour Month!

It’s been fun to experiment with new grains and recipes and my Nutrimill Classic has gotten a work out this month.

Here’s a list of what has been freshly- milled into flour and baked in March:

Butler’s Gold (Hard Red)
Bronze Chief (Hard Red)
Prairie Gold (Hard White)
Barley
Corn
Spelt
9- grain blend
Ezekiel flour mix- wheat, spelt, barley, millet, lentils, beans

My family has enjoyed homemade
yeast breads, quick breads, muffins, pancakes, cinnamon rolls and cookies. Freshly milled whole grains make even the yummiest treats a healthier option! This week we’re making English muffins for breakfast sandwiches and will post pics and updates next week.

In April, we’ll share some recipes and ideas that will hopefully inspire you to make more homemade delicious meals for your family.

Check your pantry and go to https://bethlehemharvestorders.com/
to place orders for what you need to be well-stocked for next month’s cooking!

Pick up dates and classes will be posted soon.

Happily bread baking,
Virginia Jones
